This is our opportunity to describe the different packages we offer.
All prices are in Canadian
funds and don't include the cost of an Alberta Anglers License .
To view Alberta angler licensing fees please visit 'My Wild Alberta'.
All trips takes place Saturday or Sunday. Float tube/pontoon boat, fly rod and reel, fins, flies, net and PDF are all included with your package or you can bring your own personal watercraft and equipment with you. Due to the many different sizes of anglers, we do not supply waders or wading boots. Arrangements can be made for hotel or home pick-up or we can meet at the lake or a place in Edmonton to load your equipment into our vehicle.
We supply fly rods and reels but if you wish to bring your own, a five or six-weight fly rod with reels of both floating
and intermediate sinking lines are ideal for Edmonton's local lakes. These lines should have at least seven-foot, 5X
tapered leaders.
Introduction To Stillwater Fly Fishing Clinic
If
you are new to fly fishing, there are several things we will go over
before entering the water. We'll go over the fly
rod, reel, line & leaders as well as popular fly-fishing knots.
Some of the popular flies we use and some stillwater entomology. Of course we'll
show you basic casting
instruction and fly retrieval. And when we get on the water, we'll go
over stillwater techniques and tactics, how to read a lake and popular
methods used to catch fish. If you're new to stillwater fly-fishing
but an experienced stream fisherman, we'll tailor make the school to
meet your needs.
For Float Tube / Pontoon Boat Newbies
When we get to the lake, we'll show you how to set up a 'toon or tube, fill it with air and what important tools you'll need. When we get to the water, we'll go over entering and exiting the lake, as well as propulsion with the fins and casting the fly rod from the boat.
For Experienced Stillwater Fly-Anglers
We'll get right to the fishing and try to answer any questions you may have while on the water. Our concentration will be on getting you into fish and having a good time.
